Egos can cause some players to enjoy bigger limits. Unless you've decided that honing your skills against tougher opponents is beneficial, don't play in a higher-limit game if there's more money to be made at a lower limit.
Queensland's state government has tabled legislation which will govern the operation of Internet-based casinos. Deputy Premier and Treasurer Joan Sheldon hopes to license and regulate the on-line gaming houses and protect the gambling public. "By licensing operators, the Government is saying to players: 'you will not be conned here' and my advice to players would be to stick clear of the 'wild west' of Internet gambling," Sheldon said. There are believed to be around one hundred online gaming sites worldwide, where punters can risk losing both stakes and winnings. Queensland's legislation will not protect players using these sites, but will make it safe to gamble on government-licensed sites. Some Queensland casinos have exclusive rights over the playing of particular games in certain geographical areas. How the new legislation will deal with demarcation issues arising between these established casinos and their online brethren is yet to be decided.

(g) Making marginal raises against deceptive foes.

This is one of the biggest leaks in poker. Save those aggressive, daring raises for opponents who are intimidated and easy to predict. Doing otherwise will cost you money. Deceptive opponents are terrible targets for aggressive raises.

(h) Bluffing with hands that can only chase away weaker hands.

Be careful about trying to bluff opponents who will only call if they have you beat and will always call if they have you beat. These attempted bluffs have no value (unless is psychological and planned). For instance, anytime you hold a weak ace in hold 'em on the river against a very loose caller, you should not bluff. You will almost always get called if you're beat (often by a better ace!) and almost never get called if you have the better hand. This is a terrible bet, but not an uncommon one. It's a leak.
